Well, history almost repeats itself. In 2009 Kanye West took to the stage at VMAs to interrupt Taylor Swift when accepting award citing that his friend Beyoncé should have been the winner. Kanye crashed the stage when Beck won the Grammy for Album of the Year but he aborted his mission. Beck won the award over Beyoncé.

During an interview with E! After Party Kanye said, “Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé… At this point we tired of it because what happens is when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats in music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration.”

“We aren’t playing with them anymore. And by the way, I got my wife, my daughter, and I got my clothing line, so I’m not going to do nothing that would put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That’s the reason why I didn’t say anything tonight, but you all knew what it meant when ’Ye stepped on that stage.” Kanye added.

Beck has also responded to Kaye’s actions in an interview by US magazine “I was just so excited he was coming up… He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody.” The 44 year old artist was asked if he thought that Beyoncé should have won he said “Absolutely…I thought she was going to win. Come on she's Beyoncé!”

“You can't please everybody, man,” he added. “I still love him [Kanye] and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does.”
